A Letter to Cleo

To my sweet Cleo,

Hi. We miss you. We miss your unapologetically wild spirit, your roaring laugh, and your wry sense of humour. We miss your creative mind, your sunny smile, and your relentless expression of your individuality. We miss your unwavering passion for life- for skating, for friends, and for fashion. We miss the way you made us laugh, and the way you made us feel loved.

You were extraordinarily genuine-- even your name, Cleo Athena Theodoropulos, conveys your remarkable originality. You had integrity, strength, compassion, beauty, and the best sense of humour. I hope you know how incredible you were.

There was no one quite like you, Cleo. You cared for others with your whole heart, devoting time and energy to make others feel special. You wrote hilarious yet sincere birthday letters and postcards-- they meant the world to receive, and we read them to remember you. You kept quiet about your achievements and encouraged others to express themselves. You saw the beauty in everyone and everything.

We love you so much Cleo, more than you could imagine.

We are learning to cherish moments when we see yellow and think of you. Our love for you will grow to outweigh the emptiness we feel because we will never truly lose you. We will carry you in our hearts, forever and always.

We miss and love and adore you.

Love,

Your forever friend Kate

& anyone who was lucky enough to know you.
