Goodbye Class of 2024

By: Anita Liberty

As the school year comes to a close, Belmont High School is preparing to say goodbye to the class of 2024. These seniors have had a unique high school experience, starting with remote learning during COVID-19, transitioning to hybrid, and eventually returning to school full-time. Throughout these changes, they have demonstrated extraordinary resilience and creativity.

Recently, the seniors have been celebrating several important events marking the end of their high school journey. The prom on May 4th was a huge success, with nearly 600 students attending. The night was complete with live music from local DJ Paul Madden, a photo booth, and an ice cream bar.

On May 14th, during their last week of school, seniors organized their annual prank in front of the school. Class officers planned a tailgate in the drop-off loop, complete with grilling stations, volleyball games, and a live concert. The sunny weather added to the fun and the prank was a hit among students.

On the final day of school, seniors set up booths in the field house for the capstone exhibit. The capstone is a year-long project where students have complete freedom to explore a research topic that interests them. Students in other grades visited the exhibit to see the projects and gain inspiration for their future projects.

The celebrations are not over yet. Seniors can look forward to the Senior Cruise around Boston, a fun event where they can dress up and spend time with their classmates. Graduation day on June 1st and the subsequent "All Night Party" are also on the horizon.

Although the end of high school is bittersweet, it’s also an exciting time as students prepare for their futures. Belmont is incredibly proud of our seniors and looks forward to seeing what the future holds for them.

Congratulations, Class of 2024!
