Thanksgiving Pep Rally

On Wednesday, November 27th, Belmont High held its annual Thanksgiving Pep Rally. Opening with a lively entrance for the Class of 2025, the pep rally began in the Field House, where classes sat according to their grade and graduation year—with upperclassmen on the bleachers and underclassmen on the gym floor. Generally, at other high schools and colleges, a pep rally is held to encourage school spirit and enthusiasm before a sporting event. In Belmont's case, the pep rally was held to send off the football team with school spirit and luck for their annual Thanksgiving game against Watertown while also recognizing and celebrating other parts of BHS.

There were relay races involving all four grades, bringing a spirit of friendly competition and camaraderie to the event. Each grade participated in exciting relay games such as the wheelbarrow race, crab walk, three-legged race, and ping-pong relay. Cheers echoed across the gym as students pushed themselves to the finish line, embodying teamwork and school pride. In addition to the races, this year’s Marauders—a coveted honor determined by student votes at BHS—were Model UN and the Girls Swim and Dive Team. The event was a perfect blend of fun, competition, and a celebration of community spirit!

The school spirit was through the roof from the moment the seniors entered. All four grades participated in this final day of Spirit Week, exhibiting Belmont's enthusiasm as a whole. The marching band, color guard, and cheerleaders contributed to the energy, playing pieces from their fall repertoire and performing skillful, upbeat combos. The seniors were on their feet throughout the event, cheering louder and celebrating more than any other grade—an exuberant final pep rally for the Class of 2025.
